Reverend David Hart

David Hart is an author, activist, attorney and pastor of Sherman Church, a growing church on Madison, Wisconsin’s Northside. 

David has spent time as both a prosecutor as well as a criminal defense attorney, and believes his work for the Creator has informed his secular work. 

David is also a graduate of Payne Theological Seminary—the nation’s oldest and dopest historically black seminary.
 
David has written a number of nationally published pieces regarding womanist theology and the need for gender equality in churches. One piece entitled, “How Patriarchy Hurts Men,” won an award at the National Evangelical Press Association awards in 2021.
 
David resides in Madison, Wisconsin with his spouse, Azure.
