Ray Allen

Ray Allen is CEO of Columbia Savings & Loan, a Milwaukee-based financial institution founded in 1924 to provide mortgage loans to the city’s African American community. Allen is also President of Specialized Business Services, a retail and marketing firm which operates four retail stores in the Dane County Airport.

He served nine years on the Madison School Board and on the Madison Area Technical College Board (now Madison College). He also served in several cabinet level positions in Wisconsin state government, including as Secretary of the Department of Workforce Development and as the only African American to serve as Secretary of the Department of Financial Institutions. He continues to serve on several corporate and community boards.
