Dear C.O.O. Jacquie Goetz,
We write on behalf of Blacks for Political and Social Action of Dane County, Inc., to express our disdain and condemnation surrounding the incident that occurred concerning Ms. Lilada Gee.
Our organization joins the chorus of leaders and organizations across Dane County decrying the incident involving Ms. Lilada Gee and would like to know your plans for addressing this type of injustice.
While we are pleased that the woman responsible for the aggression against Lilada Gee has been fired, we write to ask what message has been sent by you and/or your administration to Overture employees to ensure such behavior will not be tolerated? We are also interested in knowing the representation of Black mangers and fulltime permanent employees in your organization?
As a society, we must confront ignorance with information and education. Therefore, please share with us the type of training your employees received or will receive which discusses and addresses racist attitudes and bias in the workplace and in delivering services to the community.
This community and our country have seen a surge of hateful speech and aggression directed toward Black women. The verbal harassment and intimidation targeted toward Ms. Lilada Gee must be addressed so that it never happens again at your establishment.
We look forward to your response to our inquiry.
Sincerely,
David A. Hart, Esq. Kirbie G. Mack
